My interests sit at the intersection of biotechnology, bioinorganic chemistry and biomedicine.

Current direction

I am developing my research experience around the interactions between peptides, proteins and biologically important metal ions. These systems are especially interesting because coordination chemistry can influence molecular structure, reactivity and oxidative behaviour.

Questions that guide my work

How do metal ions alter biological molecules?

Metal coordination can change the geometry, charge distribution and reactivity of a peptide or protein. Understanding those changes requires chemical reasoning alongside biological context.

How can experimental data reveal those interactions?

Spectroscopic, equilibrium and computational approaches provide complementary views of molecular behaviour. I am particularly interested in connecting measured data with mechanistic interpretation.

How can the work remain reproducible?

Clear documentation, responsible data handling and computational analysis are becoming increasingly important parts of my scientific development.
